In the L'Oréal Brandstorm Competition, I played a key role in presenting an innovative product idea in the augmented beauty services category through a 1-minute video submission. Our pitch focused on redefining the personalized hair styling experience by integrating AR technology, multi-layered filtering, and 3D virtual try-on with voice recognition. The goal was to create a seamless, interactive experience that allows users to visualize and customize their hairstyles with unprecedented precision and ease.

Problem Statement

Individuals often face difficulty in accurately visualizing how various hairstyles will suit their unique features before making a commitment. Existing augmented beauty solutions have failed to meet the growing demands for realistic and personalized previews. As a result, many experience anxiety and indecision, leading to a significant risk of dissatisfaction with the final outcome. This not only affects the customer’s confidence but also creates inefficiencies for stylists and salons, who must address these concerns through time-consuming consultations and potential rework.

Solution

Introducing HairVue+, an advanced solution in collaboration with L'Oréal’s Style My Hair app, designed to overcome the challenges of visualizing hairstyles before hitting the salon. Leveraging the state-of-the-art AR technology, multi-layered filtering, and 3D virtual try-on capabilities HairVue+ offers users a highly realistic and personalized preview for their various styling needs. Users can upload images of their favorite styles or select from an extensive library. The multi-layered filtering allows for experimentation with different hair colors, styles, and makeup looks, all in real-time. Our innovative voice recognition technology enables users to interact and customize their appearance effortlessly, eliminating the need to manually search for filters. By delivering a comprehensive and interactive experience, HairVue+ enhances user confidence and streamlines the styling process, effectively reducing inefficiencies for both customers and salons.
